Hip Heiny Fleece Pocket One Size Cloth Diaper can be used with or without a diaper cover. Fleece on its own is water proof but, with a heavy wetter or loaded diaper...you may get some compression wicking. I like to combine these with the WonderWrap OneSize Diaper Cover for extra protection (with a heavy wetter or extended periods of dipe time).
Fleece is one of my favorite diaper fabrics because it allows wetness to pass into the inner/absorbent part of the diaper ... leaving baby's bum dry and happy.
I use Lastin elastic, which is gentle (no red marks on baby's legs) and can withstand the multiple washings. (Lastin is what swimsuit makers use as elastic.)
I prefer to use Premium Indian Cotton Prefolds as stuffers...they are ultra thirsty workhorse soakers! They fit well in my diaper design.
